I don't want to sound like I'm blaming the cyclist, but statistically the
'right hook' is the most common cause of injury by vehicles on cyclists. In
the Bike Ed classes Josh and I emphasize avoiding entering intersections
riding next to vehicles, or in a position where the vehicle has a chance for
a cutoff. We also teach and practice the 'emergency right turn' as an
effective way to recover in some situations.
