>Hi Dave -
>A few questions for you about the blog:
>- Are you looking for a particular type of writing? For example, would
>it be primarily journalistic, or more personal stories/perspectives, or
Mostly personal stories. Links to policy efforts would be appreciated.
>- What length (more or less) do you envision for each week's piece?
Extremely short is OK. We're going for quality and frequency, not length.
>- Would the occasional topical haiku be an acceptable contribution?
>- What's the editorial policy on content? For example, would something
>critical of a city department (in a respectful way, of course) need to
>get cleared before getting posted? Or will the blog take more of a
>"these aren't necessarily the views of TLC" approach?
These aren't necessarily the views of TLC. I
envision that Tom and I will have editing powers
that will allow us to go in and add references to
policy efforts. For example, if you refer to a
particularly annoying bike ride we could add a
link to the SFBC page that is working on
improving that section. Or complain about waiting
for the bus in the rain, we could add a link to
somebody's efforts to improve transit stations.
And I suppose we could also correct blatant
policy misstatements or other bona fide errors,
but hopefully that would rarely happen.
